You Are.

You are the words in my head,
The dreams in my bed,
The dots of my “I”s,
And the answer of my “why”s.
The crossing of my “T”s,
A cool summer breeze.                                                                      

I think about you.
I write about you.

And I often wonder,
If I’m right about you.
When all else failed,
In you I put my trust,
When words got lost into the dust,

Then silence spoke for the both of us.

All the moments that went by,
When you made me laugh,
And when you made me cry.
Your hands held onto my arm,
And the blink of your eyes,
Summoned a storm.

You are the warmth of the sun,
You are the dancing moonlight,
You are a fallen autumn leaf,
And the lonely branch left behind.

When you are too afraid to kiss,
Just let me know.
I’ll grab you by the back of your head,
And the rest you’ll know.

When I am no more,
Don’t mourn, just look up.
And I’ll know I’m being remembered,
By the faint sound of a hiccup.

But fear not love,
You shall live forever,
In the words I knitted for you.
Within the meadow of my thoughts,
You can colour the sky blue.

For you are my words,
Lost in chaos and calamity.

Drowning me in an ocean of thoughts,
My love, you are poetry.
