Nothing to Find

They all look up and wonder,

Why does she put on that smile?

How she runs around naked,

Not caring for the look in their eyes.

What makes her so warm and so gentle,

A heart of gold beating inside.

Her feet holding the ground,

Her breath pouring life into sky.

Memories made along the way,

She locks them deep in her mind.

They search her heart and her soul,

They lose, there's nothing to find.

Her eyes betray her, She knows it,

She tries to put on a fight.

For there, lies all the pain,

The stillness of one moonless night.

She swallows her pain and her sorrows,

She tries to manage a smile.

For she is the one they look up to,

The one they try to stumble behind.

They all look up and wonder,

What secrets her eyes have confined?

Gazing deep in her eyes,

They give up, there's nothing to find.
